(from my afternoon in the kitchen)

Tomorrow is the last day to get the free download of the unabridged audio of Donald S. Whitney's Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life from christianaudio.com. It is a valuable resource; so good for listening to as you go about your day!

Care for a cup?

Today is deliciously gray again, with rain, and to amuse myself I have been sewing bright bits of fabric.

(I guess it's nap time)

Our new favorite thing: clapping!

We're enjoying a bouquet of lovely new pussy willows that Greta's sweet Auntie brought over on her way to softball practice!

Joyous Warmth

It is almost 60° outside, the windows are open, and the birds are singing. Sheets are hanging from my clothesline for the first time this year!

~My pot of dirt is thawed, so I used it to pot my little sprigs that spent the winter growing roots on my kitchen windowsill.~

My project today? A game bag for brother Ben made from a 'possum hide! The fur was trapped and tanned by Will, and Dad showed me how to use his sewing awl. I cut the pattern out last night and then did the sewing of it today. I'm all inspired; I'm dreaming up laced legwarmers from coon and hand warmers from muskrat--but that's for another day. For now we're pretty pleased with this trapper's pouch.

I have been visiting my family again. You've probably noticed. My man has been working for a friend for a couple of days; this time in North Dakota. It sounds like there is quite a bit of snow. :)

We have been following the Iditarod with excitement. Our breakfast this morning, though Mama's oatmeal was excellent, was much improved by the news that overnight Lance Mackey had pulled in front by several hours! Oh yeah. Go Lance.
Do you suppose it's too late for me to learn how to mush?

Oh, and, yes, that is me over here with my muskrat singing-dude. Ignore the cheesy faces. It's cabin fever--what can I say?
